Page 1 of 9 SCOTCH BRAND TAPES 130C AND 33+ INSTALLATION Section A 1.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE (1) This procedure provides instructions necessary to use Scotch Brand, tapes 130C and 33+ over =iNf$$5 insulated splices and damage or cracked cable insulation to maintain environmental qualification (EQ), and insulation integrity of cable.
2.0 PRECAUTIONS AND LIMITATIONS (1) Perfonn only those steps required to complete the necessary maintenance.
(2) Observe standard safety precautions while working on electrical equi pnent.
(3) Review the applicable RWP for requirenents in the work area.
(4) This procedure may be performed over electrical connection son equipment in the EQ program and will provide proper insulation for 480 volts service and less.
(5) Environmentally qualified tape splices must be housed in an enclosure if the splices may possibly be exposed to direct spray or steam. The enclosure acts as a direct impingement barrier against these moisture sources. The enclosure must have weephole(s) at the lowest point to allow any acctsnulated moisture to escape.
(6) The instructions of this procedure must be followed exactly so that the equipments' envirorsnental qualification status is not jeopardized.
(Only Scotch Brand tapes 130C and 33+ may be used.)

(7) Any discrepancies noted during the conduct of this procedure must be doctrnented on the Procedure Remarks Sheet ( Attachment 2) and reported to the appropriate supervisor and the EQ engineer for disposition.
3.0 PREREQUISITE CONDITIONS (1) Verify the status of the electric power for the cables to be taped, and tag out if required.
(2) Notify the Operations Shift Supervisor before beginning work.
