Pursuant to telephone conversation with Mr. George Schnebli of your staff regarding the status of corrective action related to the subject Inspection Report, GPC provides the following information:
Unique MPL numbers have been assigned to each of the thermal relief valves on the RHR heat exchangers on both Units 1 and 2.
As Built Notices have been issued to update applicable drawings.
An update of the Equipment Location Index with the new MPL numbers has been initiated.
In addition, the RHR heat exchanger thermal relief valves have been labeled with their respective MPL numbers.
As part of the work control process, a procedure requirement for positive identification of components is being processed. Before work is to be done on a component, it will be positively identified, either by MPL number or physical description.
We expect this procedural requirement to be in place by August 4, 1986 Sincerely, WY %
