SUBJECT:
LOW POWER LICENSE I$ SUED At 2:48p.m.(CST)onFebruary8,1990 the NRC issued a low power license for the operation of Comanche Peak Unil 1.
On February 9,1990, initial fuel load began with the first fuel assembly loaded into the reactor vessel at5:23a.m,(CST). The Resident inspector observed the loading of the first fuel assembly.
As of 8:00 a.m. (CST), four fuel assemblies had been loaded.
The licensee has responded to local media interest as has the NRC.
The State of Texas will be informed.
