ENCLOSURE 1 I
l REQUEST.FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BY THE OFFICE OF NUCLEAR REACTOR REGULATION CONCERNING AMENDMENT 25 TO GE TOPICAL REPORT NEDE-24011-P-A (GESTAR II)
ON CYCLE-SPECIFIC SAFETY LIMIT MCPR 1.
Provide a listing of Amendment 22 generic evaluations and the associated key' core parameters that will be checked under Preventive Action 2.
l 2;
In Item (3) of Corrective Action 4, what basis will be used to justify 2
the acceptance of a SLMCPR that fails the search criteria?
3.
In Appendix A of Corrective Action 4, what basis will be used to justify the acceptance of a SLMCPR for which W
< 1.
4 m,
4.
In Appendix A of Corrective Action 4. it is stated that the Figure 1 recommended control rod pattern are designed to achieve a cylindrical i
i high powered region corresponding to the peak hot excess reactivity and E0C state points.
However, with fresh G fuel bundles loaded in the o
center of the core, state points earlier in.the cycle can result in a high powered annular region. How does the cycle-specific methodology accomodate the possibility of these types of power distributions?
5.
Describe the re-examination, referenced in GESTAR II Section 3.4.3, that will be performed.with respect to the SLMCPR.
