Pressurizer Defueling Attached for your review and approval is the Safety Evaluation Report (SER) for the Pressurizer Defueling System. The system is designed to agitate settled material at the bottom of the pressurizer and remove the resulting suspended fuel fines from the pressurizer water inventory by pumping the water out of the pressurizer using a submersible pump. The effluent water will be directed through a knockout canister to the Defueling Water Cleanup System filter canisters to remove the fuel fines. This evolution is currently scheduled to commence the first week of March 1987. The SER demonstrates that the proposed activity can be accomplished without undue risk to the health and safety of the public.
Per the requirements of 10 CFR 170, an application fee of $150.00 is enclosed.
