ACRS LETTER OF SEPTEMBER 10,1997, REGARDING DRAFT REGULATORY GUIDE 1069, " FIRE PROTECTION PROGRAM FOR PERMANENTLY SHUTDOWN AND DECOMMISSIONING NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS"
Dear Dr. Seale:
In responsa to your letter of September 10,1997, conveying the Comments of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) on the subject draft regulatory guide, the staff agrees that additional guidance regarding the staff's expectations on the scope and content of fire hazard analyses may be useful to licensees. The staff will particularly solicit comments in this area when issuing the draft regulatory guide for comment.
The staff will provide ACRS with a prooosed final regulatory guide after reconciliation of comments from the public, professional organizations, and the regulated industry.
