l Apolications for Reactor Onerator and Senior Reactor License Examinations Attached are the final Licensed Operator Applications and Certification of Medical Examinations (original plus two copies) for six Reactor Operator candidates and eight Senior Reactor Operator candidates for Sou:h Texas Project. This information supports preparations for Inital license operator examinations scheduled for October 17,1997 and the week of December 1, 1997.

With regard to the transition to the STP Nuclear Operating Company and the date oflicense examinations, these final applications are being submitted with the STP Nuclear Operating Company as the applicant's employer. It is expected that by the date oflicense receipt, the transfer to the STP Nuclear Operating Company will be completed. The current target date for completion of the transfer to STP Nuclear Operating Company is November 6,1997.

The attachments to this letter contain personal information; therefore, we request that these attachments be removed pursuant to 10CFR2.790(a)(6) prior to this letter being placed in the Public Document Room.
