R 38 for the General Atomics Mark i TRIGA Research Reactor. The amendment consists of changes to the technical specifications (TS) in response to your submittal of September 15, 1997.

The amendment changes the requirement for calibration of the power measuring channels to require calibrations only if the reactor could achieve criticality.

A copy of the safety evaluation supporting Amendment No. 34 is also enclosed.
