Response to Request for Additional Information Concerning Operational Quality Assurance Program Changes Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54(a)(3)
Gentlemen:
In Reference 1 Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC) submitted proposed changes to the Operational Quality Assurance Program for approval in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54 (a) (3).
The proposed changes replace the Corrective Action Request with the Performance Improvement Request, and updates the program to support improved proficiency and efficiency in the way nonconformances are processed by WCNOC personnel.
In Reference 2 the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued a Request for Additional Information regarding Reference 1, and requested a 45-day response.
Due to the ninth refueling outage, which began on October 4,
1997, WCNOC cannot support the requested 45-day response date.
WCNOC will provide a written response to Reference 2 no later than December 1, 199/.
