Dear Mr. Collins:
In the referenced letter, the NRC staff concluded that the Duane Arnold Energy Center (DAEC) Revision to Emergency Action Lescis meets the requirements of 10. R 50.47(b)(4) and Appendix E to 10 CFR Part 50. In accordance with Appendix E to 10 CFR Part 50, the licensee must discuss and reach agreement on these EALs with State and local authoritics prior to implementation.
In order to meet the above requirements and complete the necessary training for the D AEC staff, we have determined that an implementation date of January 30.1998 is appropriate.
