2. Exit Interview

The inspection scope and findings were summarized on January 16, 1987, with

those persons indicated in Paragraph 1 above. The licensee did not identify

as proprietary any of the materials provided to or reviewed by the

inspectors during this inspection.

3. Licensee Action on Previous Enforcement Matters

This subject was not addressed in the inspection.

4 Control Room Habitability Study

A team composed of a Regional inspector, a representative of the Office of

-

Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR), and three personnel from Argonne Labs

(Idaho Falls,10), conducted a Control Room Habitability study. The purpose

of the study was to evaluate (1) the operation of the Control Room

ventilation system and its ability to maintain the Summer Control Room

habitability and (2) the adequacy of the plant's technical specifications

and procedures to demonstrate system operability and capability consistent

with the assumptions made in the plant's TMI Action Item III.D.3.4, " Control

Room Habitability" analysis, FSAR Section 6.4, and the NRC staff's

associated safety evaluations. The study consisted of discussions with

licensee personnel, review of documentation and records, a walkdown and

(- examination of the Control Room envelope boundary and adjacent spaces,

measurement of air flow in the' Control Room air system, and differential

pressure measurements across the Control Room envelope pressure boundary.

The data were analyzed and preliminary conclusions were drawn. NRR will

issue a report describing the study and presenting the results of the study.
