SUBJECT:
UPDATED RECOMMENDATIONS ON FIRE PROTECTION POLICY AND PROGRAM ACTIVITIES In my memorandum to Harold Denton dated May 3, 1985, the guidance for enforcement action is included as Enclosure 4.
Under part 2.c, replace the remainder of the paragraph beginning with "The NRC intends... " with the following:
Failure to have an adequate written evaluation available for an area where compliance with Appendix R is not apparent will be taken as an indication that the area does not comply with NRC requirements and may result in enforcement action at this Severity level.
I believe this change.ill have the support of the Steering Committee.
By copy of this memorandum, I request the Committee members to so indicate if they have problems.
