105 Main Street P.O. Ilox 490 Painesville,Oli 44077 Gentlemen:

On September 23, a meeting was conducted between Perry Nuclear Power Plant (PNPP) and the Lake County Department of Utilities (LCDU) to discuss the possibility of sending industrial wastewater from the Perry Nuclear Power Plant (PNPP) to an LCDU facility.1he water would contain approximately 2 PPM of styrene. LCDU s indicated that the wastewater treatment facility could accommodate up to 50,000 gallons per day. The water will be sarnpled for Total Toxic Organics (1TO) and found suitable for acceptance by Lake County Department of Utilities.

The piping project which is generating the wastewater is nearly complete. Currently, about 750,000 gallons of waste water are contained in a i million gallon capacity lagoon. Some 60,Wi gallons will be added before the projec, 's complete 'this lagoon has not been used for toxic materials in the past. It was originally designed for use as a settling pond for calcium carbonate scale, however it was never used for that purpose. PNPP is pursuing the TTO testing at this time with the Electro-Analytical Group in Mentor, in addition, an isotopic analysis will be performed. Upon completion of sample analysis, PNPP anticipates commencing with pumping to the Lake County sanitary line.

PNPP will arrange for sampling at least one week aner the last addition to the lagoon and will transmit a copy of the resuhs to your office. Please respond, in writing upon receipt of the sample analyses, if the wastewater is acceptable if you have questions or require additional information, please contact Ms. Donna Tiuano at (216)280-5514.

Very truly yours, "
