50-328 SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT - ADDITIONAL HYDROGEN RULE ANALYSES SUBMITTAL A meeting between NRC and TVA management was held in Bethesda, Maryland, on January 29, 1987, to discuss restart issues associated with Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SQN). One such issue was additional analyses that we would need to perform to address NRC concerns with regard to the hydrogen rule promulgated following the accident at Three Mile Island Unit II (TMI-II). NRC suggested that, in addressing their concerns, we might evaluate analyses undertaken by other utilities to address the similar NRC concerns for applicability to SQN.

As a result of the discussions of this issue at the subject meeting, we took l

action to define a plan that would provide for closure of NRC concerns on the hydrogen rule for SQN.

I A plan of action has been developed that we believe will adequately address and close out all open issues that NRC has concerning the hydrogen rule and i

its impact at SQN. A list of commitments, identifying tasks and expected completion dates, is provided in the enclosure. Note that the comitment dates are contingent upon availability of reports and submittals that are to be made available to TVA by other parties. Please review the list and advise us in writing if you agree with the ac'tivity scope.

Please direct questions concerning this list of commitments to Timothy S. Andreychek at (615) 870-7470.

Very truly yours, TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY 8'702260181 870219 PDR ADOCK 05000327 P
