New RS Effective Aug. 24,1999 Dear Sir / Madam I am pleased to inform you that Dr. Krahenbuhl will be appointed Reactor Supervisor for the 100 kW TRIGA Nuclear Reactor (Lic # R126) effective August 24,1999. This appointment will replace me as Reactor Supervisor; I will retain my appointment as Reactor Administrator. This action clearly marks an increase in personnel resources to our reactor program. These changes were anticipated and documents were rnaintained for this eventuality, therefore only minor changes will be necessary.
Dr. Krahenbuhl is a licensed SRO (SOP-70154) and has been since 1995. She has been involved in all facets of operation and is familiar with NRC regulations. In her duties, she worked with NRC and RSC auditors and served on the Reactor Safety Committee for over two years.
This appointment satisfies our special license requirement that this post be filled by a member of the faculty. In the May 1999 faculty meeting of the Chemical and Fuels Engineering Department, the faculty voted unanimously to bestow the appointment of Assistant Professor (R). The appointment is currently being processed through the normal administrative channels. Dr. Krahenbuhl with her academic background and experience with the Utah reactor easily meets the qualifications delineated in ANSI /ANS standard 15.4 for this position.
