Dear Dr. Wymer:
On behalf of the Commission, I am pleased to offer you an appointment to the Advisory Committee on Nuclear Waste (ACNW) to fill a term that will expire on June 30,2001, As you know, the ACNW advises the Commission on nuclear waste disposal facilities, as directed by the Commission.
The Commission offers this appointment based on the understanding that you will not advise the ACNW on any particular matter that would disoctly and predictably affect the financial interests of the entities listed in the recent memorandum to you from the Office of the General Counsel.
Although we will make an effort to minimize our demands on your time, we recognize that service on the Committee will entail some sacrifices on your part. We appreciate your wilbngness to give your time and energy to an effort that is so important to the future progress of the Nation's nuclear regulatory program.
