Mr. Harold R. Denton U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C.

Dear Mr. Denton:
On May 15, 1985, the Government Accountability Project filed a petition with the Commission regarding the Wolf Creek Plant.
The petition was filed on behalf of the Nuclear Awareness Networrk (NAN).
On June 12, 1985 you wrote that you had concluded that "the matters identified in the petition do not require immediate action to protect the health and safety of the public."
You promised appropriate action within a reasonable period of time.
A year has passed.
By any standard, it has been a reasona-ble period of time for the agency to review the straightforward petition.
Please inform us of the status of the review and the cause for the delay.
Thank you for your attention in this matter.
Sincerely, Billie Pirner Garde i
