Dear Sir:
The Department of Energy (DOE) has asked the Nuclear Assurance Corporation to act on their behalf to arrange for a single shipment of irradiated fuel from the (former) Nuclear Fuel Services facility near West Valley, New York, to Battelle Columbus Laboratories at West Jefferson, Ohio.
This shipment will use the route approved on April 21, 1986 for similar shipments.
Specific information regarding this shipment is as follows:
1.
Cargo Description Two (2) PWR fuel rods, or pieces of rods.
- Model number NLI-1/2, cask package number USA /9010/B()F.
Loaded weight of the transport vehicle is approximately 72,000 pounds.

Anticipated Schedule Enclosed separately as Safeguards Information.
