Gentlemen:
I personally fought long and hard to prevent the re-opening of any of the nuclear fission reactors at Three Mile Island, Hiddletown, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
I feel strongly and I believe this is a deep moral issue. Nonetheless, in your eminent wisdom, you decided as a body to permit the undamaged unit to be re-started and you are intending to permit the damaged unit to be re-started.
We suggest that you get on an airplane and go to Kiev, Russia, as a Commission and examine for yourselves the chaos, disaster, life destruction, property destruction, and utter madness that occurs when a nuclear power plant goes critical! After all you, as a Commission, have dictatorially decided that I should have a nuclear power plant in my back yard, and that it is quite safe and quite acceptable.
If it is so safe and so acceptable, then you all should go over to Russia and see what an unsafe nuclear power plant looks like. Take some lead suits with you because I understand the radiation is quite high.
You may think this is trivial and that the people are ignorant and stupid, but my friends you are so wrong!! We are sick of it!!
Be men and women and stand on your own two feet and do the right thing!! Stop knuckling under the pressure of the nuclear industry and get rid of these God-awful things! Shut them down!!
It would be a sincere pleasure to receive an intelligent response from your Commission and not a word processor, computer generated letter from a junior-junior staff member. We anxiously await your thoughtful response to this matter.
