- CHAIRMAN DICUS: Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. This is an affirmation session..We have one item to come before us this afternoon. Before I ask

the Secretary to laid us through the item for affirmation, do any of my colleagues have any other opening comments that they would like to make?

CHAIRMAN DICUS: All right, Madam Secretary, you may proceed.

MS. VIETTI-COOK: The Commission is being asked to act on a final rule amending 10 CFR Part 51 to eliminate the requirement that license renewal applicants j

address the generic and cumulative environmental impacts associated with transportation operations in the vicinity of a high level waste repository site. This final rule also consider' the potential impacts of more highly enriched and high burnup fuel.

The rule also addresses local traffic impacts attributable to continued operation of the

. ' plant during the license renewal term. The Commission has voted to approve the final rule subject to the comments and changes provided in the attachment. Would you please affirm your vote?
