C. M. Allen letter to H. R. Denton dated September 10, 1986.

Dear Mr. Denton:

As a follow-up to the referenced letters, we have provided the next two sets of data from the subject test and have also attached a graph developed from this input. This data includes trip actuations performed at 8 weeks and 10.5 weeks from the beginning of the program.

In this test, switches of the Model 212 series (7 - 100" W.C. adjustable range) are being held at 1000 psig and are cycled at different intervals to monitor variances in trip actuations from their calibrated settings.

An observation which is evident from the graph is that once the initial 24 hours2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
of static pressure has been " soaked in", there is a large drop in rate of setpoint shift, which decreases further over time. The-latest data shows that the trend of switch trip points appears to have leveled off.

Finally, it appears that once a switch is pressurized, the trip point drift is not dependent on whether the switch is cycled often or left undisturbed for long periods and then cycled.
