On behalf of the Commission, I am pleased to offer you an appointment to a four-year term on the Advisory Committee on Nuclear Waste (ACNW). As you know, the ACNW advises the Commission on nuclear waste disposal facilities, as directed by the Commission.

t The Commission offers this appointment based on the understanding that you will not advise the ACNW on any particular matter that would directly and predictably affect the financial interests of the entities listed in the recent memorandum to you from the Office of the General Counsel.

Although we will make an effort to minimize our demands on your time, we recognize that service on the Committee will entail some sacrifices on your part.
