Docket No. 70-7001 Status of Revisions to the PGDP Security Plans

Dear Mr. Lieberman:

United States Enrichment Corporation (USEC) letters to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) GDP 97-0125, dated July 18,1997 and GDP 97-0139, dated August 11,1997 provided a schedule for revising the PGDP classified matter, transportation security, and physical protection security plans.

The changes to these PGDP security plans that were determined by USEC not to require prior NRC approval were completed by September 5,1997 as committed to in the referenced letters. These changes were required to bring the plant into compliance and achieve completeness and accuracy.

USEC has identified no change to date as a result of our review that requires prior NRC approval.

This transmittal completes USEC's commitment described in the referenced letters to forward any plan revisions requiring NRC approval by September 19,1997.

USEC is preparing security plan revisions to resolve inconsistencies among the three security plans

~

and other minor changes. Until such time as these changes are completed, PGDP will remain in compliance with the most conservative of the commitments in the three plans. These inconsistent and other minor changes are being reviewed, and it appears to date that none of these changes will require

_ prior NRC approval. Due to the scope of all security plan changes made to date, USEC has verbally requested a' meeting with NRC to review all security plan changes.
