Waterford 3 SES Docket No. 50-382 License No. NPF-38 Containment isolation Valves with a Safety Function to Open Gentlemen:
In letter W3F1-96-0207, dated November 15,1996, Waterford 3 requested that the NRC review the containment isolation valve information provided in that letter and provide a Safety Evaluation Report documenting the results of that review.
On July 29,1997, Waterford 3 participated in a predecisional enforcement conference at the Region IV headquarters in Arlington, Texas. This predecisional enforcement conference gave Waterford 3 an opportunity to provide the commission information concerning the subject containment isolation valves.
Resolution of the issues discussed at the July 29,1997 predecisional enforcement conference will adequately address those items the NRC was asked to evaluate in the November 15,1996 letter. Therefore, the request to provide Waterford 3 with a Safety Eva!uation Report on the containment isolation valves discussed in that letter is withdrawn.
