Dear Ms. Garde:
This is in response to your letter dated February 28, 1986, which we treated as a new Freedom of Information Act request for records regarding Information Notice 84-84.
Based on a recent telephone conversation between you and Nina Toms, Ms. Toms agreed to contact the staff regarding records which identify exactly when the Westinghouse Corporation formally notified the NRC that the firm was experiencing problems with the Ferro-Resonant Transformers.
Appropriate staff members were contacted regarding your conversation with Ms.
Toms and informed Ms. Toms that other than the one record listed en the enclosed appendix, which is being made publicly available at the NRC Public Document Room in F0IA file folder 86-128, no pertinent records other than those provided under F01A-85-13 were found.
With regard to the record identified on the enclosed appendix, the staff further informed Ms. Toms that this record does not fall within the scope of your request but you may find it of interest.
This completes NRC's action on your request.
