Docket Nos: 50-327 and 50-328 FEB 0 9 1987 LICENSEE:

Tennessee Valley Authority FACILITY:

Sequoyah Units 1 and 2

SUBJECT:

SufEARY OF PEETING TO DISCUSS CABLE PULLING Cn January 29, 1987, representatives of fiRC and TVA met to discuss the staff's January 15, 1987 letter regarding recomended actions for reso-lution of specific cable pulling concerns for Sequoyah. Enclosure 1 lists the attendees.

TVA asked several questions regarding the interpretation and scope of the recomended actions. The staff responded to these questions and requested that TVA fonnally document their interpretation and scope of the recomended actions as a result of the discussion.

Regarding the implementation of the recomended actions, the staff re-quested that the recommended cable tests associated with vertical cable supported by 90 condulets at Sequoyah 2 be completed prior to startup, and that the recomended modifications associated with cable supports for vertical cable below 90* condulets inside containment at Sequoyah 2 be completed prior to startup. Additionally, the staff requested that all other recomended tests / inspections in support of Sequoyah 2 cable installation, which may be done at Sequoyah 1 and/or Watts Bar 1 and 2, be performed prior to Sequoyah 2 startup.

TVA disagreed with the staff's request regarding implementation of the recomended actions prior to restart of Sequoyah 2.

The staff requested that TVA fonrally document their position regarding implementation.

TVA's position was discussed with our Senior Management Team. The Senior Management Team stated that they strongly supported the staff's recomen-dations that cable testing and support work should be completed prior to startup of Sequoyah 2.
