The following areas have not been resolved:
(1) Section 9.1.1, Spent Tuc1 Storage -

both ECCS pump rooms due to a postulated rupture of a non-seiseic Category I fluid system inside the reactor auxiliary building. We vill traquire the applicant to provide flood protection to these ECCS pumps.

(3) Section 9.5.1, Fire Protection System -
The present system design criteria and design bases do not provide any means of leaksge detections for the Ralon 1301 flooding system in the cable vaults and cable chases adjacent to the control room area. Ve will require the applicant to provide means of Balon leakage detectors and alarus or the results of an analysis to demonstrate that the control rootn operators and the personnel in other essential manned areas will be protected from Halen and its pyrolytic dacorposition products fdr all conditions including fire, inadvertent actuation and leaks.
We will report on the resolution of these probler.s in supplenents to this report.
In Amendment 17 we have received the applicant's response to our questions regarding possible feedwater flow instability. We will revi m the information provided as a post-CP ite:a.
With the exception of the above, we find the proposed systees acceptabic in the stated areas.
