Integration of Trojan Basket Attributes into the TranStor Part 71 Application

2. Schedule for Review of TranStor Application for 10CFR Part 71 and 72 Certificate of Conformance, BFS/NRC 99-072, dated August 3,1999

Dear Sir,

By Reference 1, BNFL Fuel Solutions (BFS) committed to provide by August 9,1999, a revision ofits TranStorm Part 71 application that would incorporate the attributes of the TranStor basket and internals used at Trojan. As discussed with the NRC TranStor Project Manager, Mr. Tim Kobetz, the revision has been postponed and a new schedule will be established at a later date. BFS understands that the receipt of the Part 71 application revision is necessary for the NRC to re-establish its review schedule.

The postponement is necessary in order to incorporate any potential changes resulting from the resolution of the recent corrective action report (CAR) regarding the basket internal coatings used at Trojan. Reference 2 discusses the recent coatings CAR. Additionally, the Part 71 application revision will require review by Portland General Electric.

There are no new commitments made in this letter.
