SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT, LICENSE AMENDMENT APPLICATION DATED APRIL 10, 1986 I.
Background
Tennessee Valley Authority is licensed under NRC Materials License No.
l SNM-1865 for the receipt and storage of fuel and accessories for eventual use in the Bellefonte Nuclear Plant Unit 1.
The license is scheduled to expire May 31, 1986. The application requests that the license expiration date be extended to May 31, 1991.
II. Discussion l

The need for an extension of the license expiration date is due to construction delays. Extending the expiration date does not affect the radiological safety, nuclear safety, or other parameters on which the issuance of the license was based.
III. Recommendation Based on the above, I recommend that the license extension, as requested by the licensee, be approved.
