ITEMS OF INTEREST Babcock & Wilcox (B&W), Apollo, Pennsylvania On May 1, 1986: SHBidinger meet with two B&W representatives to discuss site characterization studies, decommissioning status, and license renewal activities and schedules.
Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc., Erwin, Tennessee During the period of May 5-9, 1986, an NMSS organized team conducted a Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) appraisal at the Erwin facility. The team consisted of two NMSS members, a Region II member, and an ORAU consultant. The appraisal included management, management functions, NCS evaluations, and technical and administrative in-plant practices.
Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc., Erwin, Tennessee On May 14, 1986, GHBidinger met with an NFS consultant to discuss resolution of two significant safety issues which were identified in May 1985 during the license renewal process.
