INVITATION TO JOIN THE DECOVALEX lli PROJECT
Dear Dr. Norrby:
Thank you for inviting the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to participate in Phase-lli of the international project on Coupled Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical Processes. We have reviewed the contractual agreement attached to your letter of May 31,1999, and found the terms and conditions of the contract agreeable to us. We are enclosing the signed contract for further action by you. We understand that NRC's share of project expenses for the calendar year 1999 would be 100,000 Swedish Kronor (SEK) and our expected contributions for the next three years would be about 223,000 SEK/ calendar year.
As mentioned in the NRC letter of December 16,1998, from John Greeves to you, Dr. Mysore Nataraja of my staff will be our point of contact for this project. He will be assisted by the technical staff from our contractor, the Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses, as necessary. Please contact Dr. Nataraja, if you need NRC to take any further actions. He can be reached by phone at 301-415-6695, or by e-mail at msn1 @nrc.aov.
