SUBJECT:
WOLF CREEK 1 OPERATING LICENSE REVIEW COSTS 10 CFR 170 of the Comission's regulations for license fees was revised
[
effective June 20, 1984.
Section 170.12(b) of the revised rule provides that for applications for operating license (OL) review which have been pending with the Comission for six months or longer,- billings would be made at six-month intervals until the review is completed, whichever is earlier.
In accordance with Section 170.12(b), we have reviewed the cost incurred by the various program offices directly involved in processing the operating license for the period December 23, 1984 through June 4, 1985, ~'
the date the full (100%) power license was issued.
Attached is a sumary of the review costs as well as the supporting documentation from the program offices. The attachment shows that a total of $350,309 was expended for the OL review. When the costs of $350,309 are added to the costs of $3,046,428 from the previous reporting periods, the cumulative OL costs through June 4,1985, are $3,396,737. This total exceeds by 1
$319,337, the maximum fee of $3,077,400 as stated in 10 CFR 170.21.
Accordingly,$319,337 has been subtracted from the costs of $350,309 leaving a balance due of $30,972.
In accordance with Footnote 2 of 10 CFR 170 and since the license received an operating license (5% power) on March 11,1985, only $30,972 may be assessed for OL review costs during the period December 23, 1984 through June 4, 1985.
