Your Quality-Assurance Program A) proval No. 0759-is-hereby terminated. The Nuclear Regulacory Commission pu)lished a final rule, 6ffective June 27, 1997 revising the requirements of-10 CFR Part 34. " Licenses for Industrial

' Radiography and Radiation Safety. Requirements for Jndustrial Radiographic

. Operations." -The revision, which contained numerous changes in the requirements. also-modified the quality assurance (0A) requirements for transportation.

As a result of these changes, a-separate w OA program approval is no longer needed.

Specifically. transportation activities are now contained in.a new paragraph.

10 CFR 71.101(g).

This provision was'added to the regulations and-requires that inspection and maintenance )rograms limited to radiographic exposure

~ devices, source changers, or paccages transporting these devices and meeting the-provisions of 10 CFR Part 34.31(b), or equivalent Agreement State regulations, satisfy the general license requirements specified in 10 CFR Part 71.12(b) for Type B transport packages.
