revising the requirerents:of 10 CFR Part 34. " Licenses for-Industrial -
Radiography and Radiation Safety Requirements.for Industrial Radiogra Operations." The revision,-which contained numerous changes-in the phic requirementsialso modified:the quality assurance (0A) requirements. for-E_ transportation.1 As a result of these changes, a separate NRC_0A program L approval is no longer needed.-
l Specifically,' transportation activities are now contained in a new paragraph.
10 CFR 71,101(g). This provision _was added to the regulations and requires
-that: inspection and maintenance-)rograms limited to: radiographic = exposure devices, source changers -or paccages transporting these devices and meeting

the provisions-of 10 CFR.Part 34.31(c), or equivalent Agreement State -
regulations, satisfy the general license _. requirements specified in'10:CFR Part -
71.12(b).for. Type B transport packages.
