Your Ouality Assurance Program A) proval No. 0783 is heceby terminated. The-Nuclear Regulatory Commission pu)lished a final rule, effective June -27,1997.
- revising the requirements of 10 CFR Part 34. " Licenses for Industrial
-Radiography and Radiation Safety Requirements for Industrial Radiographic q

' Operations." The revision, which contained numerous changes in the requirements. also modified the quality assurance (0A) requirements for i
transportation. As a result of these changes, a separate NRC OA program -
approval-is no longer-needed.
Specifically. transportation activities are now contained in a new paragraph.
10 CFR 71.101(g). This provision was added to the regulations and requires that ins
- devices,pection' and maintenance)rograms limited to radiographic exposure-source changers, or paccages transporting these devices and meeting the provisions of 10 CFR Part 34.31(b). or equivalent _ Agreement State-regulations. satisfy the general license requirements specified in 10 CFR Part 71.12(b) for. Type _B transport packages.
