Your Quality Assurance Program A> proval No. 0775 is hereby terminated. The ,
Nuclear Regulatory Commission pu)lished a final rule, effective June 27, 1997. i revising the requirements of 10 CFR Part 34. " Licenses for Industrial Radiography and Radiation Safet Requirements for Industrial Radiographic :'
Operations." The revision, whi h contained numerous changes in the
- requirements, also modified _ the quality assurance (0A) requirements for transportation. As a result of these changes, a separate NRC OA program approval is no longer needed.
Specifically transportation activities are now contained in a new paragraph.
10 CFR 71.101(g). This provision was added to the regulations and requires ,
that inspection and maintenance )rograms limited to radiographic exposure ,
devices, source changers, or paccages transporting these devices and meeting '
the provisions of 10 CFR Part 34.31(b). or equivalent Agreement State regulations, satisfy the general license requirements specified in 10 CFR Part ,
71.12(b) for_ Type B transport packages. ,
