Dear Mr. Themelis:

In accordance with your request by letter, dated November 10, 1986, we have reviewed the Preliminary Design Alternatives Study for disposal of additional vicinity property material at the Clive, Utch Site.

Our geotechnical and hydrologic engineering review indicates that conceptually, both of the proposed alternatives are acceptable. However, regardless of which alternative is implemented, it would be prudent to locate the separate disposal area further away from the discharge point of the main embankment ditches. Over a period of time, gully formation will likely occur downstream of the ditch outlet. Rather than trying to predict the size, extent, and exact location of this gully, the additional disposal cell should simply be located some distance upstream from this area.
