TRIP REPORT - SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON FIRE RESEARCH AND ENGINEERING From August 11, 1997 through August 15, 1997, I attended the Second International Conference on Fire Research and Engineering at the National Institute of Standards and Technology A) proximately 200 individuals from over(NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
12 countries attended the conference.
11e conference was organized jointly by NIST and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE).
Several interesting papers related to fire modeling, fire growth, performance based fire protection design, fire suppression and toxicity were presented.
I-presented a paper on the fire analysis portion of the Individual Plant Examination of External Events program. A compendium of the abstracts of the papers is attached for your information.
A proceedings of the complete papers will be published and available for purchase from SFPE.
