The Honorable Conrad Burns United States Senate Washington, D.C. 20510-3804
Dear Senator Burns:
I am responding to the letter you sent to Shirley Ann Jackson, my predecessor, on July 6,1999, regarding Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests sent to Federal agencies by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC).
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has not received any request from the DSCC for correspondence or other relevant material sent from your office to this agency. The NRC's FOIA records show that NRC has received only one request from the DSCC. That request was made in 1997 and asked for all NRC correspondence with Representative Charles Schumer of New York from 1986 through 1997.
With respect to your concerns regarding the personal privacy of your constitants, the NRC has protected and will continue to protect the personal privacy interests of alf 9> vjuals as appropriate under the FOIA.
Sincerely, ido.
M Greta Joy Dicus
