I The Honorable Shirley Jackson Office of the Chairman Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555

Dear Ms. Jackson:

It has come to my attention that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has received an anonymous letter and documentation conceming issues at the Maine Yankee nuclear power plant that, the letter says, may cast further doubt on the safety of Maine Yankee.

As you know, the facility is presently shut down while repairs and inspections continue.

Every step must be taken to assure the safety of the plant ifit is to be brought back on-line and each allegation must be thoroughly reviewed. To assure this happens, I am requesting a full NRC investigation of the charges made in the letter and documents received by NRC this past Thursday.

Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.

Sincerely r
