We require six unclassified copies of your January 22, 1986, application for renewal of Materials License No. SNM-368. George Bidinger of my staff requested these documents by phone on February 20.

Please submit the unclassified applications within the next 10 days.

On November 30, 1978, United Nuclear Corporation submitted a financial plan for the decommissioning of the facility. With the change in the corporate name, a new financial plan, signed by an appropriate UNC Resources,.Inc., official, should be supplied within the next 30 days.

Your existing license requires that authorized activities be conducted in existing facilities. We note that your renewal license states that new facilities-have been constructed. Use of these facilities for licensed material is not authorized under the existing license.

Information required by 10 CFR 70 should be supplied in the form of an amendment application if you wish to use the facilities for licensed activities.

The-license also requires that the Radiological Contingency Plan be updated on an annual basis. The plan should be revised insediately because it has not been updated since 1981.

These issues were discussed by your Mr. Gutman and George Bidinger on March 20, 1986. Please call me if you have any questions on these issues.
