SUMMARY

OF MANAGEMENT ACTIONS 1.

Initiatives Taken The following list is a synopsis ofinitiatives by Maine Yankee:

April changed back to PharmChem Laboratories in California.

Poor Research Triangle Reference Report on Texas PharmChem Laboratories.

Unresponsive to Corrective Actions at Texas PharmChem Laboratories.

June performed a Follow Up Audit of Texas Laboratories following many personnel and administrative changes.

Internal Fitness For Duty Audit performed Week of March 17,1997.

Collection Site person attended DOT Alcohol Testing Certification Program.

Fitness For Duty Procedures updated.

Administrative Action Two Pre-Access samples were questioned and a For Cause Test required. Both came back positive.

One Positive Fitness For Duty was appealed and the Administrative Action Committee upheld the denial of Access.

April ist, Fitness For Duty responsibility was transferred from Human Resources to Security.

Lessons Learned Internal Fitness For Duty Audit identified the fact that the Administrativ:: Action committee could request that an individuals split sample could be tested without the individuals authorizaticn.

Procedure 700.15 was changed.

IV.

EfTectiveness Evaluation The Maine Yankee FFD program continues to effectively meet both the requirements and intent of 10CFR26. The flexibility of the program enhances the company's ability to effectively ensure t e safety of employees and to emphasize the importance of the FFD program.

Reportable Events During the period of January 1,1997 - June 30,1997, no reportable events occurred.
