Dear Mr. Jackson:

During Septmber 1986 we will be conducting our seri-annual physical inventory. The balances of this physical inventory are not required to be subnitted to. the IAEA.

In consideration of this, we are requesting an extension to 45 days to reconcile and report the balances to the NRC.

This is a one-time rcquest realizing that in the ensuing physical inventories we will reconcile and report our balances within 30 days.

We are making this request primarily due to new personnel involved in the physical inventory process. This extension will allow them to gain a more complete and thorough understanding of the physical inventory process.
