Dear Mr. Matthews:

Our review of the Radiological and Engineering Assessment (REA) for the Durango vicinity property numbered DU-544, indicates that the proposed remedial action-is probably correct.

However, we are concerned that the land owners' questions were not sufficiently addressed regarding the possibility that the land may have uses other than connercial.

The REA assumes the land is not habitable and does not address the impact of applying supplemental standards to property that may be used for residential purposes in the future.

Prior to our concurrence t

in the proposed remedial action, please address the possibility of a residence being built on the property'and include it in the REA.

Additionally, please clarify whether the haul road is included in the vicinity property.

It appears to be excluded on Drawing 00-544-040, Revision A, while the cost estimate in Table 4.1 of the REA includes three items, 544.3 through 544.5, that appear to be associated with cleanup of your haul road.
