Dear Mr. Hillman:

4 A l O Northern States Power Company is planning to resume the series of spent fuel shipments by rail from Monticello, MN to General Electric Company, Morris, IL.

The plan is to commence these shipments in the fall of 1986 and complete eleven movements over a six month period.

The route to be used for this series of shipments is that which was previously approved by the NRC in October 1984.

General Electric Company will make necessary security arrangements for the shipments and Northern. States _ Power Company will make notifications as required by 10 CFR Parts 73.37 and 73.72.
