50-328 SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT - POSTRESTART SCOPE AND SCHEDULE FOR THE DESIGN BASELINE AND VERIFICATION PROGRAM (DBVP)

TVA letter from me to B. Youngblood dated December 31, 1986, "Sequoyah Nuclear Plant - Supplemental Information to NRC for Design Baseline and Verification Program" 2.
TVA letter from me to B. Youngblood dated December 11, 1986, "Sequoyah Nuclear Plant - Additional Information on Sequoyah Design Baseline and Verification Program" In reference 2, TVA committed to provide NRC with the DBVP scope and schedule for Phase II (postrestart) of Sequoyah unit 2 by March 21, 1987.
i The DBVP management is still evaluating the results of Phase I (prerestart), as some aspects of this phase of the program are not complete (i.e., reconciliation effort between DBVP and other Division of Nuclear Engineering (DNE) personnel on corrective actions for punchlist items). The Phase I results are very important in determining the scope of Phase II.
In addition, other activities are underway which will result in a comprehensive schedule for all postrestart work at Sequoyah. The DBVP Phase II schedule can be determined when TVA has evaluated other postrestart efforts. Therefore, the DBVP Phase II scope and schedule will be finalized and submitted to NRC by May 8, 1987.
In reference 1. TVA announced plans to issue the DBVP final report for Phase I by the end of the first quarter of 1987. The report was issued on March 5, 1987, in preliminary form for TVA use. Because of additional work that should be addressed in the final rep et, such as the addendum program for the system evaluation reports and the punchlist reconciliation effort, issuance of the final report will be delayed until May 29, 1987.
This schedule change was communicated verbally to Joseph Holonich, of your staff, on March 20, 1987.
