RADIOGRAPHER CERTIFICATION
Dear Mr. Cable:
I am forwarding to you NRC Information Notice 99-22 (Enclosure 1), which contains important information on the NRC's policy for enforcing certification requirements for radiographers conducting work in areas of NRC jurisdiction. As y7u should be aware, the certification requirements became effective on June 27,1999. I am also providing for your information a list of NRC-approved Certifying Entities (Enclosure 2).
We accept your registration for testing of Weldtek Testing Labs radiographers in Louisiana on August 25,1999. Weldtek Testing Labs radiographers may work as radiographers in areas of NRC jurisdiction until the results of the examination are reported. Any individual who does not pass this scheduled examination must stop working as a radiographer.in areas of NRC jurisdiction. NRC jurisdiction has been stated to exist at the incinerator facility under construction at Anniston Army Depot near Anniston, Alabama. We have based this decision upon your letter dated June 22,1999, regarding certification testing.
