Dear Dr. Grace:
Alabama Power Company's letter dated November 10, 1986 reported approval from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) for Farle,v Nuclear Plant to conduct a temporary chlorination program for Corbicula control in the service water system. his program consists of both a short term (three week) and long term evaluation period. The attached letter is confirmation of ADEM's approval to extend the short term evaluation period.
h is report is made in accordance with section 3.2 of the Environmental Protection Plan of Licenses NPF-2 and NPF-8.

Dear Mr. Martin:
This letter is to confirm changes discussed in our phone conversation on November 25, 1986 to the service water chlorination study for the above referenced facilit'y. As stated, we will extend the three week study to a four week study or 100% mortality of Corbicula indicator organisms whichever occurs first. We will contact your of fice on December 1,1986 and report whether additional time is necessary.
