SUMMARY
REPORT During previous discussions, Consumers Power Company informed the NRC BWR Project Directorate that the Control Room Design Review Summary Report for Integrated Plan Issue BN-005, which we have committed to submit by March 1, 1987, will not be a complete final summary report. The agreement reached during these discussions was that a partial summary report should be submitted by March 1, 1987.
It should contain all Human Engineering Deficiencies (HEDs) generated from both the static and dynamic Control Room Design Review (CRDR) activities and the results of the interaction checks for those HED corrective actions which have been developed through March 1, 1987, (approximately 787 of 2,000). A summary of the results for all remaining HED corrective actions would be submitted in a complete final summary report by September 1, 1987.
The intent of this letter is to confirm these agreements and to modify the partial summary report contents.
We wish to point out to the NRC that all of the data collection activities for the CRDR are complete. The work that remains to be completed is corrective action assessment of the remaining HEDs, interaction checks between HEDs, implementation of paint, tape and label variety corrective actions and sub-mittal of the remaining proposed corrective actions through the procedural process for assessment to become potential plant modifications.
Because all of the corrective action assessment will not be complete by March 1, 1987, for 1
all of the HEDs, Consumers Pover Company wishes to modify the above agreement to not include any results of t% interaction checks until the complete final part summary report is submitted on September 1, 1987. To be complete and to minimize duplication of effort, the interaction checks cannot be accomplished until all of the HEDs corrective actions are assessed.
