Dear Mr. Denton:

Enclosed are five copies of the VEGP Report on Settlement dated August 1986.

This report evaluates the settlement records for the seismic Category 1 structures at VEGP. In accordance with Confirmatory Item 7,.the report is being submitted 3 months prior to fuel load of Unit 1.

The report concludes that the total settlements of the structures at VEGP are within the limits predicted in the FSAR. Differential settlements affecting piping are typically small and within predicted limits. The effects of differential settlement on the structures themselves are negligible.

Settlement markers will continue to be read at the frequencies stated in the FSAR.
